  2. The second CME/CE program at the bottom is "The Healthcare Team: Addressing Inequities in Pain Management."

1) A Review of the Osteoarthritis Guidelines, their Application to Clinical Practice, and Populations at Risk

Pain is a universal cause of morbidity and disability, with high health burden and economic costs in the United States (US) and worldwide. Effective pain management is recognized as an essential component of caring for patients with pain, yet numerous gaps in pain care exist. Lack of education among clinicians, including primary care practitioners (PCPs), is a major barrier to effective pain management.

PCPs often address pain in primary care settings; surveys of ambulatory care visits to outpatient clinics in the US indicate that nearly all PCPs regularly treat patients with pain. Additionally, clinical treatment of pain falls short of alignment with knowledge of effective pain management. This webinar seeks to address these knowledge and practice gaps among PCPs.

Learning Objectives
After viewing this webinar, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the guidelines for pain management in osteoarthritis.
  • Design strategies to improve pain management in clinical practice and individualize care.
  • Implement recommended approaches to pain management based on evidence and best practices.
  • Recognize and treat at-risk patient groups.

Accreditation: In support of improving patient care, Primary Care Education Consortium is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), and the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Credit Designation: 1.25 ACCME, ACPE, ANCC, or AAPA certification. Other clinicians will receive a certificate of participation. The term of approval is 10/3/2025 to 10/2/2026.
